TeezySoDope
TeezySoDope is a multifaceted artist, songwriter, creative director, performer, and Board Member of the DC Chapter of the Recording Academy. Her passion for hip-hop shines through in every word she speaks. When Instagram introduced video features, Teezy took advantage of the opportunity by launching 'TeezyTuesday.' This initiative contributed to her rising popularity, eventually leading her to be featured on NBA All-Star Damian Lillard’s (Dame D.O.L.L.A.) ‘4Bar Friday’ platform.
As one of the prominent artists on this platform, Teezy has earned recognition from notable figures such as Sway, Heather B, Rapsody, Hit-Boy, Rob Markman, and more, who have all referred to her as "Dope." She attended the NBA All-Star weekend in 2014 as part of the 4Bar Friday community and performed on stage with renowned DJ Mannie Fresh. These experiences inspired her to release full-length projects to share her story.
Teezy has collaborated with legendary producers, including DJ O.G.ONE and Point Guard (from 1500 or Nothing), among others. As a two-time Veer Award winner, her projects—such as 'UnapologeticQueen,' 'QuaranTeezy,' 'PointToTheDope,' and her latest release, 'LemonTree'—showcase her impressive catalog. Her stage presence is unmatched, and she consistently brings "Big ENERGY" to every performance.
She has graced stages coast to coast, serving as the opener for the D Smoke War & Wonders Tour, the 420ish festival in Portsmouth, VA, and as the headliner for the Black History Month celebration hosted by the Portland Trail Blazers during PDX Hip Hop Week. Teezy also headlined the Something In The Water festival.
In addition to her music career, Teezy is an entrepreneur. She founded SoDopeStudios LLC, a one-stop shop for entertainment essentials, specializing in performance coaching, songwriting, creative direction, and original jingles for businesses, radio shows, podcasts, and brands.
Before diving into music, Teezy was a full-time basketball coach and educator, working with youth education and family services in Hampton, VA. She has since combined her love for music with youth mentorship, focusing on songwriting and performance coaching for emerging artists in the 757 area. Teezy also serves as a board member for the theatre and entertainment academy in Hampton City Schools and is the creator of TeezyFest, a Virginia-based music festival.
No matter the stage or the setting, Teezy is a force to be reckoned with, leaving an indelible impression—“Everyone remembers the DOPE.”
